Passion & inspiration
“I love watching soccer and enjoy playing padel. Besides that, I prefer doing fun things with my family and I have a close group of friends. What inspires me most is my role as a father; I want to be a good example for my children. My oldest son is six, and I notice that he is proud of the work I do.
Proud of
“I’m most proud of my career switch. Thanks in part to Morssinkhof and my direct colleagues, I can now do what I truly enjoy. I leave behind the things that suit me less, which gives me a lot of positive energy.”
Activities
“No day is the same, and that’s what I enjoy so much about this job! I receive notifications from colleagues who run into issues: from a weighbridge that isn’t working to login problems. This applies not only to Lichtenvoorde, but also to locations like Laar, Heerenveen, and sometimes Emmen. In addition, I carry out all kinds of technical tasks, such as patching cables, configuring switches, updating the camera system, installing laptops and computers, and creating accounts (for example for VPN). I also manage the IT inventory, maintain the configuration database, and check the backups daily. The variety is what makes my work so enjoyable: you start with a plan, but by the end of the day everything can look completely different.”
Challenge
“The work can be hectic, and ICT is truly the heart of the organization—we make sure our colleagues can keep working. I don’t like saying no, which makes it a challenge to provide help on time without overloading myself. That’s why it’s important for me to stay true to myself and take the right actions step by step.”
Work environment
“The working atmosphere at Morssinkhof-Rymoplast is very pleasant. I have great colleagues, there is a lot of freedom, and you are trusted to manage your own time as long as you take responsibility. The guidance is good and there are many opportunities for advancement. Moreover, I live and work in Lichtenvoorde, which I find ideal.”
Future
“In five years, I hope to have developed further and progressed to a full network administrator. I am open to training; I recently completed the Network Specialist (CompTIA Network+) course and am already working on the next step. I see myself working at Morssinkhof for a very long time and hope to play an increasingly important role for the team and the organization.”
